Motorenöl - Pokemon - 14.01.2006 Hi, Too much drink yesterday. What viscosity of motor oil do you use for M10 and M20 ? Please unswer ALL RE: Motorenöl - barnie64 - 14.01.2006 bitte nicht : RE: Motorenöl - Kai600 - 14.01.2006 I use mineralic 15W40, for example Catsrol GTX3 Protec. RE: Motorenöl - Rainer H - 14.01.2006 Castrol 10 W60 only RE: Motorenöl - Nick DE - 14.01.2006 Zitat:bitte nicht Zitat:Please unswer ALL I don't have an E21, so I will try not to answer RE: Motorenöl - Pokemon - 15.01.2006 Zitat:Zitat:bitte nicht But you have a E30 M10 or M20 ? RE: Motorenöl - Haaatschi - 15.01.2006 I use Mazola or Olive Oil. Olive Oil must be extra virgin and cold pressed! RE: Motorenöl - Nick DE - 15.01.2006 Zitat:But you have a E30 M10 or M20 ? 1988 E30 M20B20 But if I say which motoroil I use, Ralf will terminate my Forum account. RE: Motorenöl - isMäx - 15.01.2006 In our BMW 2002 (also M10) is only Castrol 10W-60. RE: Motorenöl - Nick DE - 15.01.2006 Kai is right - which grade of oil you use should take into account the ambient temperature conditions, aswell as the engine. Which type of oil - mineral, synthetic, mixtures, esters etc - is a matter for you to discuss with your doctor, priest and lawyer RE: Motorenöl - Nick DE - 15.01.2006 Further English language advice available here: http://www.bmwcarclubforum.co.uk/forum_posts.asp?TID=8710&PN=1 RE: Motorenöl - Pokemon - 16.01.2006 Our temperature -25 +30 BMW info http://www.youngtimer-teile.com/youngtimer/infos.zip page 125 Vorwiegend über +30 SAE 20W50 Ganzjährig über -10 SAE 20W50 20W40 Vorwiegend unter +10 SAE 10W30 10W40 10W50 15W50 And what i must use? : RE: Motorenöl - Pokemon - 16.01.2006 Zitat:Further English language advice available here: Modern motor may use other viscosity We use M10 and M20 RE: Motorenöl - Pokemon - 16.01.2006 Zitat:Zitat:But you have a E30 M10 or M20 ? I dont ask what producer do you use.(ONLY VISCOSITY) ohne reklame RE: Motorenöl - Pokemon - 17.01.2006 RE: Motorenöl - Nick DE - 17.01.2006 Zitat:I dont ask what producer do you use.(ONLY VISCOSITY) ohne reklameRalf doesn't agree with my choice of viscosity. Zitat:Vorwiegend über +30 SAE 20W50 Good question - it largely depends on your religion. I wouldn't use any of the above, they look like old recommendations to me. Manufacturers recommendations are based on the oil types easily available when the cars were new - they rarely go back 20 years later and update them. Zitat:Modern motor may use other viscosity RE: Motorenöl - Pokemon - 18.01.2006 Zitat:Oilman supplies oil to many oldtimers - many much older than our cars which use fairly up-to-date engine materials. Give him details of your car, temperature conditions and driving style and he will give you advice. Temperature from-25 up to + 30 Frequency of rotation average It seems to me in view of these data , on oil with viscosity 5W40 the engine will be more noisy to work. |
