safety belts q?

safety belt doesn't work when they suppose to pull back in,
can i make it work the old one or 'ill have to buy new pair?
if i have to but how much they cost?


i have opened the one side of belt and spring got jump out,
manage to back it in seat and close the box,but it still work poor!

the car is E21-315 model, '82 year

You don't even have to buy a new pair: Both belts are available seprately. Price (in germany, might vary from country to country) EUR 80 + tax

Besides: If the belt dows not pull back in properly it's often the black cap which covers the head of the bolt holding the covering cap (1) in the picture below, which sometimes changes its shape in sunlight and then starts pressing onto the safety belt.

Have you forgot to oil the Spring?
Sorry , but dirty and totally harded Grease was on my Belt Rolls the Damage.
I think, a good universal Grease, is better than the bad WD40.
